Jada’s Mama Musings
Real Stories, Real Advice
Hey there,
Do you remember your favorite toy when you were growing up?
I remember when I was little I used to love playing with my Baby Alive doll. You know the one I’m talking about–the doll that you literally feed and then the “food” goes through the doll’s body and right out into a fake diaper that you then have the pleasure of changing.
When I was little, because of my Baby Alive, I thought I knew everything there was to know about being a good mom. I fed her. I changed her diapers. I bathed her. I was trained early.
At least… I thought I was.
So when we fast forward to the part where there is nothing about that beloved doll that even remotely prepared me for motherhood and all it entails, you shouldn’t be surprised. It didn’t even prepare me for what it was like to change a real dirty diaper–especially the dreaded blowout.
But why does any of this matter?
It matters because even though I wasn’t prepared for all of the challenges that I have faced and have yet to face as a mother, I am still here. I have a happy, healthy little girl (with pictures to prove it). And I have a bunch of experience that I want to share with you.
And that’s what my weekly blog and newsletter are all about.
This blog was started as a way for me to celebrate the wins of motherhood, but also to help me work through the challenges I was facing as a single first-time mom. But since its inception, it has evolved into so much more.
There are so many mamas out there just like you who are beyond tired, dizzy from running in literal circles, chasing their kiddos around the house, and honestly, feeling pretty alone and discouraged. But one of the lesser known and beautiful things about motherhood is that none of us have to go it alone–even if it feels like we do.
What started out as a personal mommy-blog has become a resource for so many mamas out there. Whether it is advice that you are looking for, a laugh, encouragement, or just something to tell you that you are seen and doing great, that’s what this is all about.
If you need advice on how to get sweet potato poop out of your favorite onesie safely (without using harsh chemicals), you can find it here.
If you are looking for a laugh because your kid just spit up in your mouth and need to know you’re not the only one to receive such blessings, you will not be disappointed.
Or, if you are looking for something to help quell the mom-guilt that you’ve been feeling since that night you let your baby cry it out, again, it’s all here.
The point that I’m largely trying to make is that my newsletter and blog are here to help you, Mama. I’d venture to say there’s something here for each season of your motherhood journey… the ups, the downs, the beautiful, and the ugly.
And I cannot wait to share them with you.
What’s even better is that since you’ve subscribed, you’ll get all of these great pieces of advice, stories, and uplifting messages directly to your email inbox.
And it is my hope that as you receive my musings, you’ll feel a sense of connectedness and community with me and the other moms who are just like you.
And I’d love to hear from you as well! If you have any funny stories, pieces of encouragement, or heartbreaking moments that you just need to share, I love hearing from the Mamas in this community.
I look forward to walking with you on this journey.
And I can’t wait to see where it takes you!
Until next time.
Love,
Jada
