What can 1000 DAYS of MEDITATION do for you?
I realized recently I have crossed 1000 days of meditation on an app that I use to track my daily meditations,
and it got me to reflect on how far I have come and what meditation has done for me…
My first brush with meditation happened in 2012, when someone suggested I try Vipassana Meditation.
I was desperately seeking answers to my existential angst of
Who am I?
Why am I here?
How do I matter?
And so I signed up.
After meditating for 10 hours a day, for 10 days straight, I realized two things…
One, I was going about my search for answers all wrong. Instead of looking all around me (through books and courses, or looking at what others are doing), what I really needed to do was create the time and space to go within…
As Rumi said, “You go from room to room, searching for the diamond necklace that was always around your neck.”
Inner mastery is the key to a meaningful and successful life, and meditation gives us the tools to cultivate that inner mastery.
The closing aspect of Vipassana meditation is a beautiful practice called Metta – where you actively practice loving kindness towards others.
That is how I eventually birthed the idea of Shenomics – so I could then help other women also live and lead mindfully.
